Annual Christmas Open House 2009

Over 100 people turned out to the event held on Sunday, December 20th in the VTEA Arena. Santa Claus was there to meet the children too. The weather cooperated and there was only a trace of a shower. It was a great opportunity to get together, not least because of the fine food on offer. The desert table was noteworthy and Agnes McCorquodale, cofounder of VTEA, had outdone herself in the fine array of cakes and biscuits she had baked.

Some of the cutest visitors were Elliott's Miniature Sicilian Donkeys, courtesy of Jan Elliott. As you can see, Emma Darnel was entranced by Philip, one of the two baby donkeys, and their two mom's were there too.

As usual VTEA was most happy to see many members of the BC Hot Rod Association who turned out for the event. One of the highlights was a presentation of a cheque for $9,500 to VTEA, which had been raised in a BCHRA Auction on December 1. In the picture below, Adam Kendall, the VTEA President, is receiving the cheque from the BCHRA auctioneer, Henry Tjart. Other Hot Rodders who can be seen in the picture include President Art Brumpton, Vice President Joe Morris, Treasurer Keith Biddlecombe, Secretary Randy MacKinnon, Membership John Paonessa and Directors, Pete Graw, Tom Whiffin and Drew de Haan.

The BC Hot Rod Association is one of the strongest supporters of VTEA and their ongoing support is highly appreciated. You can read more about their activities on the BC Hot Rod Association website.
