Valley Therapeutic Equestrian Association is a registered volunteer-based charity that provides medically-approved therapeutic horseback riding and hippotherapy treatments for children and adults of varying abilities. Since 1983, the goal of VTEA has been to enhance the quality of life for our riders by improving their physical, mental, and emotional well being with the help of our empathetic and gentle horses. The riders find they can interact with their environment in new, powerful, and inspiring ways.
The volunteers who assist our riders find a great deal of satisfaction in seeing the outstanding benefits that therapeutic riding and hippotherapy can bring to all ages.
The VTEA Riding Centre is located among rolling fields on 256th Street in Aldergrove just south of the Fraser Highway. Come explore our 20-acre facility that includes an indoor arena, beautiful woods and trails that stimulate the senses in a variety of ways. Lessons are ongoing and we have some of the best instructors and volunteers that therapeutic riding has to offer.
There are many ways to become a vital part of our community at Valley Therapeutic Equestrian Association.
WHAT YOU NEED

- Each new rider is required to have a referral from their medical doctor.
- VTEA’s physiotherapist and head instructor will do the initial assessment and create a unique riding program in conjunction with VTEA instructors.
